Air Contaminants Benchmark List
The MECP continues to protect Ontario's air, ensuring there are strong environmental standards that are protective of human health and the environment, and taking action to enforce local air quality standards. As part of this work, the MECP has shared an update on the Air Contaminants Benchmarks (ACB) List.
The ministry is fulfilling its commitment to maintaining the ACB List to ensure that it will continue to serve as a single reference source for the regulated community, with correct information about Ontario’s air standards and guidelines, and up-to-date screening levels. An updated ACB List will be officially introduced for April 1, 2023, by updating the Ontario.ca information, as well as posting a bulletin on the Environmental Registry and updating our Permissions Enterprise Platform for the environmental approvals and sector registry (EASR) program.
The ministry is pleased to provide Ontario Air & Noise Practitioners with an advance copy of the updated ACB List. Please note – the updated screening levels on the ACB List (v 3) will be in effect once they are released online at Ontario.ca and announced on the Environmental Registry. You may choose to begin referring to updated benchmarks now, at your convenience.
